Our Objective
The Objectives of the Parkinson's Disease and Related Movement Disorder (Dystonia, Wilson's Disease, Tourette's Syndrome) web site is to supply information about how to manage the many challenges of living with these chronic neurological conditions. It also aims to Educate and to create an Awareness & understanding by providing access & links to the latest developments fields of research in the various Movement Disorders
We Provide : The Parkinson Association SA which is a registered Non Profit Organisation (NPO 003-851) was founded in 1970. It has expanded rapidly in the years since then. We are the only national organisation working exclusively to support people with Parkinson's disease & Related Movement Disorders, their families and care-givers. Our mission is the conquest of Parkinson's Disease and the alleviation of the distress it causes. The Association produces a wide range of resources, including information sheets, booklets, audio tapes, videos, on all aspects of these disorders. Our members receive educational magazine, the Tulip Talk & Dystonia a quarterly Forum, which has many interesting features such as up-to-date reliable reports on general trends in treatment, information on welfare matters and medical viewpoints. - Assist PD support groups through referrals, organization, and by providing educational materials
- Encourage and support volunteer involvement in organizations serving people with PD
- Directly represent and advocate the interests of those afflicted with PD through local organizations
